"Learning outcomes are most likely to be achieved when educators work in partnership with families and communities”

Childhood is a time to be, to seek and make meaning of the world.

We are proud to have second generation Gumleaf Cottage children attend our service.

Our Team and Support

“Educators who are attuned to children’s thoughts and feelings, support the development of a
strong sense of wellbeing” (Early Years Learning Framework, p.12)

Our team of highly skilled management and educators are paramount in providing a high quality service to all children and families who attend our service. The team is committed to making each child’s day fun, stimulating, safe and educationally sound.

Our Director has 30 years experience not only in running a child care service but also in working as an educator with the children.  Our Director, as the Educational Leader, also leads the development and implementation of the educational program.

The children’s meals are prepared by our experienced and skilled cook who has been cooking for the children of the Hawkesbury for 30 years.  Specialised training includes developing menus to meet dietary and cultural needs.

All educators at Gumleaf Cottage are trained and experienced.  The service maintains a short list of casuals to ensure continuity of care for the children.   All staff members are screened through a Working with Children Check carried out by the NSW Office of the Children's Guardian.

The Early Childhood Australia Inc (2006) Code of Ethics assists our team in governing the service’s policies and procedures as it defines each team member’s professional responsibility in the protection and wellbeing of the children.

Our service works closely with support professionals to ensure all children have opportunities to achieve learning outcomes.
